Canterbury Green Apartment Fire

November 2, 2018 - The FWFD was dispatched to the 5600 block of Old Dover Blvd. Upon arrival heavy fire was found in apartment apt. #1.  The first Engine crew pulled fire hoses to extinguish fire.  All apartments in the fire area had been evacuated without injury prior to FD arrival.  Due to the volume of fire extensive overhaul had to be initiated to eliminate fire spread to the rest of the structure. The building received heavy fire, water and smoke damage to approximately 8-12 apartments. All occupants of apartments were relocated by Canterbury Green Staff.

8200 Tranquilla PL House Fire

November 1, 2018 - Fort Wayne Fire Dept. responded to reported house fire in the 8200 block of Tranquilla Pl.  Upon arrival firefighters found all residents out of the house.  Firefighters were told that there was a fire in the basement.  Firefighters made an aggressive attack on the fire which was located in the basement. The fire was placed under control in about 30 minutes.  No injuries were reported and this fire remains under investigation.  Assisting at the scene were A.E.P. NIPSCO NEC, TRAA, FWPD.

1700 Florida Dr House Fire

October 27, 2018 - The Fort Wayne Fire Department was call to the 1700 block of Florida Dr by the home owner they found a fire in the attic and escaped the home unharmed. Crews arrived and brought the fire under control in 17 minutes. the fire is under investigation.

Ziebart Fire

July 19, 2018 - FWFD units arrived and found an out-building that was connected to the main building fully involved in fire.  Fire had also extended from this structure to the main building burning the outside wall and roof line on that side of the building.  Crews quickly extinguished the fire upon arrival and made entry inside the main structure stopping the spread of fire from getting out of control and causing further damage.  FWFD was assisted by TRAA, FWPD, and Neighborhood Code.

Club Royal Fire

July 11, 2018 - The Fort Wayne Fire Department was alerted to a fire at 9439 Lima Rd (Club Royal) by a passing motorist. When the first unit arrived they found heavy fire, high heat, and smoke that prevented them from making entry to the structure. The fire was fought entirely from the exterior of the structure due to the conditions. It took crews 50 minutes to bring it under control. No one was inside the building when the fire started. No Firefighters were injured while battling the blaze. The Fort Wayne Fire Department was assisted by the Fort Wayne Police Department, Fort Wayne Water Department, TRAA and Neighborhood Code. The fire is under investigation.
